Awesome! What a great series. It’s always nice when someone agrees with me on here. Thanks for reading my blog!
But really, it’s not good to speak ill of the dead. The deceased are so harmless.

And it was Timothy Leary. And, God help us, we smoked him.
I’m reading this! For those of you who can’t tell what this is, (since its cover have been removed because I rented it from the library) it’s Black Hole. I’m less than a quarter of the way through it and I’ve already decided that it’s way too freaky to read before bed. Though it’s really messed up so far, it’s definitely living up to its hype. I shall read on!
Alone…is there a more terrible word?
I read this! I’m going to be honest with you and say that I didn’t have high expectations for this novel going into it due it its genre, but seeing as it won and Eisner, I thought I would give it a shot. Of course it falls under my theory that all graphic novels of this type have at least one awkward sex moment. Besides that, it wasn’t bad. It was a quick read, I love it’s format and style, and I definitely welled up at the end. This isn’t a novel I would go on a hunt for, but if it’s within access, it’s definitely worth the half hour.

Funny — when I was a kid, it used to rain like this — dark, chilling…as if the sky were alive — and living, felt pain.
I read The Homeland Directive due to my brother’s suggestion and all of its hype. For people who have read some of my other reviews on graphic novels, I either love them, or I very much dislike them. But with this, I’m having trouble deciding how I feel about it. So I waited several days to write this, but the wait didn’t make a difference. The amount of pros and cons is throwing me off. The aspects that I didn’t enjoy hit me hard right at the beginning. I felt that the writing was way too direct and the story was predictable with not enough development. It also irks me when people use real photographs or images inside the paneling, since I feel it ruins the pace of the story (except for some of McKean’s work). On the other hand, I really loved some of the paneling, especially the sketched ones and the snapshots of the cities progressing with the story through the novel. Though, I have to admit, the ending was perfect. So, I guess read it if you like ridiculous endings, but don’t if you hanker for character and plot development.
